Hope Agbonrofo

Hope Agbonrofo is a Fellow/Lecturer in the Department of Economics, School of Management and Social Sciences (SMSS), Pan Atlantic University (PAU).  He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in economics from the University of Lagos; Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Benin with distinction in Entrepreneurial Development and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Economics – Second Class Honors; Upper Division from the University of Jos.  He has been accepted to pursue a doctoral program in economics at the Babcock University.

His research interest centers on issues in monetary economics, international trade and finance, development economics and financial sector of emerging economies.  Hope currently leads courses in money and banking.

Hope has vast banking experience.  Prior to joining PAU, he had over 23 years of professional banking experience spanning several strategic areas of the industry.  At different times in his banking career, he has been Credit and Market Analyst, Credit Risk Manager and Branch Manager and served in several managerial roles in Corporate, Commercial and Retail Banking divisions of different banks including: Chartered Bank (now Stanbic IBTC Bank), Standard Trust Bank (now United Bank for Africa Plc), Oceanic Bank (now Ecobank Plc) First Bank and Afribank (now Polaris Bank) and Sterling Bank Plc.  In these capacities, Hope has handled strategies for new business and branch development, management of risk asset portfolios, treasury functions, strategic top level corporate, multinational, institutional and individual relationships, general administration, trainings on high – impact relationship management and bank products among others.

Hope has attended several executive business education training programs including those offered by the prestigious Lagos Business School of the Pan Atlantic University.
